one fact I learned at the market is most of your grocery food $$$ goes to the PACKAGING COMPANIES rather than the farmers. this royally fucks the farmers and makes it harder for them to produce quality food. 

when you buy from the market, 100% of your dollar goes to the farmer and in turn, the farmer has more funds to put more work into their soil, feed, and grounds.
