Recently, I learned about the Immigration Act of 1965, the act that got rid of the national quota for Asian immigrants. But, one must note that this act was influenced by the Civil Rights Movement. If our Black counterpart hadn't bore that burden first, the Immigration Act of 1965 probably would've never come to fruition. It is because of this, that the Asian American community owe a debt to the Black community for paving that road first so that we were able to follow. We must stand with our Black counterparts in solidarity in this battle. We need to stand up and speak up when we see or hear wrongdoing. It is in our daily lives and choices that make the biggest difference. It is educating and working on ourselves to becoming anti-racist. You know what's right. You know the right thing to do. So, do it. Educate yourself. Learn something new every day. Be active and stand for what is right. As POC, we should all be working towards the same goal of ending racism once and for all ✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 #BlackLivesMatter #DoYouPart
