Poetry doesn’t come easy when you have to write. I struggled when I taught it, because I knew how hard it was to create on the spot when it wasn’t coming from inside, but rather trying to follow the “rules” of scripted memorization. For me, I preferred to keep a notebook and would scribe when a moment struck. The following was one I wrote on my recent trip while laying on the warm sand and listening to the waves crashing around me, surrounded by love and light.
“Heated skin
Wet, raw, aching
Surrender in passion.
I ache to be taken
To be laid bare
To be seen.
The build,
The primal lust of it.
The ridged strength ignited
by hot, raw, need.
I want to lick
To suck
To tease
To arch
To melt
To languish in it.
I thank the Goddess
I thank the God
Oh yes, Goddess!
Oh, God!
Always in lust
Always in need
Always grateful”
