The chaos continues. I seem to have no time to do anything but care for dogs and chicks this week. The chicks will be moving to the pasture outside in 4 or 5 days at the most I think. They are developing feathers nicely. I'll post pics soon. They've grown so much! When that happens I will be able to resume my normal schedule. The surprise puppy (who I found starving, wandering down country road) is a sweet good boy but he is still a puppy. He's learning quickly and is very snuggly and loving. Everyone is getting along nicely. The shelter dog and puppy play endlessly. She seems to need it too. Too long at the shelter and I am guessing an abusive past before that left her very scared. When I found her biting my sandal I took it away and calmly said no bite, we do not bite this, this is bad bite. She cowered and tried to hide under a table! I think she was clearly beaten for doing things like that before. She was so relieved when I comforted her instead of hurting her. She gave me a lot of kisses and came out. She's even finally rolled on her side and asked for belly rubs!! That is huge!! She trusts that I won't hurt her and will show her most vulnerable side to me. :) I am so happy to have won her trust so quickly. It's only been like 10 days! She is a very sweet dog. I think I am naming him Hawkeye and She's going to be Houlihan. :)
