Change takes action is a fundraiser for a nonprofit I volunteer for, the cupcake girls. The Cupcake girls provide resources to sex workers and sex trafficking survivors. The key word here is RESOURCES!!! We are not here to rescue anyone from sex work and even sex trafficking. The reason for the later is, you don’t know what someone’s p!mp may have on them, important documents, children, etc. Sometimes it’s more harmful to “rescue” someone from their situation. So we are here to help them with whatever goal they have and be there for them when they are ready to leave. 

Volunteering for the cupcake girls is incredibly important to me. Before I was Harlot Hayes, I was Vienna a survival sex worker stripping to get out of an abusive relationship. Then I was hazy Day, still a survival sex worker, out of the abusive relationship, but still struggling to keep a roof over my head and food in my belly. I wish I had known about the cupcake girls because their help would have prevented a ton of trauma for me. So that’s why I volunteer and try to get the word out, give back to my community, and hopefully prevent someone else from experiencing the trauma I have.
