The Art of Pregnancy Sex
“Do you know where a baby’s dimples come from?
This information will vary depending on whether the Mommy-to-be is in the First, Second, or Third Trimester. (i.e., Belly Size)
Pregnancy Fetish or regular pregnancy sex is more common than one may think. Two different TV Show’s come to mind. HBO’s Hung series is about a high school athletic coach turned gigolo. A reoccurring “client” on the show is in her 2nd/3rd trimester. The movie Change-up with Ryan Reynolds & Jason Batmen. After the “change-up” Ryan Reynolds’ character has a date with a 3rd trimester woman. This scene is great because Reynolds’ character met this woman in a single woman’s Lamaze Class! Both shows are funny & worth a watch…..
“Left-Side”

This is a phrase you will hear often!! Depending on her belly size sleeping, sex, and cuddling, basically anything lying down will need to do while SHE IS ON HER LEFT-SIDE. This is to allow nutrient rich to flow unobstructed back to her heart which is what is needed for her health and the health of the fetus.
Some doctors may recommend that women hold off using their vibrators, having penetrative sex (during specific trimesters), and limit specific sexual positions. Again, this will vary based on the health of the women & fetus. Oral sex is usually safe but proceed with caution. It’s worth mentioning that if an individual is having an outbreak of cold sores reconsidering oral is best.
A women’s volume increases by about 40% during pregnancy. This can cause her breast to swell and an heighten sensitivity around all her erogenous zone and vulva. Many women report fatigue in the first trimester but due to hormonal fluctuations can feel “frisky” in the second & third trimester. There are several sexual positions that are better due to both individual’s physical comfortability level. i.e., Cowgirl, Doggie Style (using a pillow to support her belly), Reverse Cowgirl, and Side-by-Side (left-side only, though).
Does sex cause labor? No! This is a MYTH, but some doctors may recommend sex to help move things along.
Orgasms, feeling relaxed, and the afterglow of the feel-good hormones can have positive effects on the labor process. While helping the parents-to-be feel connected through this life changing experience!
