Story Time from 2014: I was a brave and adventurous soul I am still but you know? Pandemic etc, but I want to tell you my story in Brazil, I was so exited I planned this trip but there was one thing that I couldn't do: swim.

I  always been self-conscious about not being able to swim, and had never wanted to learn. But one day, while on vacation in Brazil, I decided to face my fear head-on and try to learn how to swim.

Anyways I booked everything to fly to Brazil I visited this Beach hmmm I can't remember the name, ready to take on the waves. As I waded into the water, I felt a surge of confidence. "I can do this," I thought to Myself. But as soon as I tried to swim, I quickly realized that this was a huge mistake lol.

The waves were crashing around me and I was struggling to keep my head above water. I flailed my arms and legs wildly, trying to stay afloat, but it was no use. The tide was too strong I I don't know how but my knee got hit with a big rock and I was pulled out to sea.

As I bobbed up and down in the water, I realized that I was in serious trouble. I tried to cry out for help, but the saltwater in my mouth made it hard to speak. Just as I was about to give up, I saw a lifeguard and my friends running towards me.

The lifeguard quickly swam out to me and pulled me to safety. But my embarrassment didn't end there. As the lifeguard pulled me back to shore, I realized I was in topless and everyone was looking at me lol... I am lucky that people in Brazil is so open minded that they really didn't care that much but you know? I might show my boobs here but it doesn't mean I want everyone see them for free in a random beach lol.

To make matters worse, as I tried to cover myself, I couldn't walk right because all my knee ligaments were broken and I was in pain Laying there on the beach, half-naked, with a broken knee,I couldn't help but think "this is the worst day of my life."

But as I looked around, I saw my friends trying to confort me and they took me to the hospital and I had to flight back to Colombia and it took me six months to walk properly again ... have you every had something broken on your bodies guys? 

I know my english is not very good looking like Celia cruz (Cuban singer) used to say, but hey I do my best.

From that day on, I decided to embrace my fear of swimming and decided to take swimming lessons, and I was determined to be a pro swimmer one day... that's one of my goals on 2023
