“For Yourself, The Fulfillment of Female Sexuality” has been on my bookshelf for almost 20 years. I have the original 1976 Edition. When I got this book, I was about 15 years old. I wasn’t ready to read it at that age, but I knew that during my 20s, I should of read this book all the way through & follow the exercises on masturbation on my own. I started it a few times but never read the whole book until now. I finally finished it and wished I had read it years ago, worked and did the exercises & learned about my body. During my 20’s, I masturbated mostly with vibrators and toys. Rarely with my hands. I enjoyed the feeling of using my vibrator and having sex, but I never had an orgasm until my early 30s. I am on medication for anxiety, and I believe it relaxes my mind now; and the last eight years, I have been enjoying sex and having orgasms through masturbating oral sex, and intercourse. However, before I started medication for anxiety, I believe the exercises and the information that Lonnie explained in detail would have helped me relax more and enjoy my body to help me have orgasms without medication.This is an excellent book for a woman who had difficulty reaching orgasm on her own and with a partner. This helps women who were brought up that masturbation was dirty and how to work on moving forward from that idea to a woman that is sexual and having orgasms. The book was based on a group study of “pre-orgasmic” women that went through steps and exercises, and by the end of working with the ladies, they will all be able to have an orgasm. There were also questions about 1)What are your parent’s attitudes toward sex? Your mother’s? Father’s? How were they communicated to you? Etc. So many questions and answers that I am ready to ask and want to explore further. If women asked questions, we would understand more about our thinking and why we were not able to have an orgasm and enjoy our body to the fullest.
