My Dear Fans,

As my page grew, I pledged not to post about politics. However, I did not consider that there would be a full-scale assault on civil liberties within a few years of that. But here we are.

The Conservative far right is making a single-minded push to literally outlaw anything fun. This is not a threat, this is a promise, as clearly outlined in this 1,000-page roadmap for the first 150 days of a Trump presidency. They explicitly state they will (try to) outlaw pornography in America.

If you are here on my page, then whether you'd like to admit it or not, you are in direct opposition to the current Republican platform. It's fine and dandy to be an aspirational Republican, but the actual current Republican agenda that we are set to vote on is one that envisions a world in which we do not exist.

I simply do not believe that you can be here, reading this, and then vote for the current Republican agenda without, if I'm being generous, a complete hypocrite. Of course, most of us don't vote along one single issue, but there is also a limit to what is a worthy trade-off. This isn't about porn. It's about the total absurdity of making banning porn your platform and goal. Nobody in human history has been able to ban sex work, but it's places like China and Iran that are trying their hardest. Just please consider the flat lunacy of this idea and whether you can support ANY way a political platform that promises a future in which you can't come to this website, or any other like it.

And it's critical to note that this actually has nothing to do with the current Republican nominee for President. This started long before he entered politics, and will continue regardless of whether he wins or turns to dust.

If you are a die-hard blue-state Democrat, good for you. Your vote is probably irrelevant. The only thing that matters between today and Election Day is whether you can identify one friend, colleague, uncle, father, or brother, anybody whose vote actually counts (e.g., because they live in a swing state) and turn their vote from red or purple to blue.

I honestly can't believe the floodgate that was opened by the overturning of Roe vs Wade. It has shown the naked ambition of the far right to take us back to the good old 1950s when women wore poodle skirts, stayed home, and needed their husbands' permission to open a bank account.

That's it. I'll take most of this to Twitter in the future, but I've been boiling these past few days and just had to get this off my chest.

Faithfully,
Dee
