Today I'm taking Vixy to another vet visit. Hopefully she'll be healed enough to take the collar and stitches off :(

*WHAT HAPPENED*
*trigger warning*

So basically Vixy was in a parking lot before I got her. The time she was there she got bitten by a dog. She must of have broken a bone on her ribs that was left inside her.

When I adopted her, her wounds where almost fully healed - the fur on her sides had almost fully grown back. The next day after bringing her home I took her to the vet. The doctor noticed a lump on one of her wound-sides. So we scheduled an appointment a week later for her to open it up alongside a sterilising procedure.

When we got home that night Vixy amd I were both exhausted from oir day amd we fell asleep cuddling on my bed for the first time. Nome of us moved a limb for 3 hours straight! It was awesome.

By the time we woke up everything seemed fine, until I picked her up to move to the living room. After a while I noticed a stain on my hoodie and I saw that she had opened her wound. It didn't seem like a big deal because the opening was small and all the transparent liquid had come out. So I assumed it had been cleaned now and everything should be ok.

Little did I know a few hours later she had opened a pretty big hole and what seemed to me like a part of a broken "tooth" was sticking out. I thought maybe during the *situation* that a small part of the dog's tooth must've gotten caught up in there.

No.

I rushed her to the vet and by the time we got there a full-blown half-sized RIB BONE was sticking out of her 😭 I was soooo scared.

But that was a good thing because what seemed to have happened is, the broken bone was being rejected by her body. And after some x-rays none of her organs seemed to have been punctured.

But they kept her for the night; and in the morning operated on her to close the wound.

When I arrived to get her they informed me that the internal wound was quite big and so they added a rubber cube inside her with the ends sticking out vertically on her side, for the purpose of giving the wound space to heal internally first and avoid any infections.

So now we're waiting for that to happen before the tube and the collar come off.

She also likes to watch me while I use the ladies room 🤣
