On Sunday evening I was admitted to the stroke ward at hospital with the symptoms of a stroke, having lost feeling in the left side of my body and face, and significant muscle weakness etc.

Thankfully after lots of tests, the could not find any brain damage and so concluded it wasn't a stroke. They could not say for certain what it actually was, whether it was a very low level TIA (mini stroke), a particular type of migraine that has symptoms exactly like that of a stroke, or some other neurological/brain event. In all likely hood as a result of the stress I've been under the last few months.

After having assessments for being able to was shower, wash, brush teeth, walk and do steps, I was discharged on Tuesday.

I'm still not 100% percent, but a world of difference away from what I was on Sunday and Monday, and even since leaving hospital.

This experience has shaken me somewhat, and although enormously relieved that it was not a stroke I am obviously concerned and hope that what ever it was goes away and never comes back.

As for the nurses, doctors, health care assistants, and therapists - they we're absolutely fantastic constantly. I was really impressed how all the different elements of health care coordinated and came together to help me over those couple of days, oiled by the kindness and attentiveness of all the health professionals involved.
