Remember: peace in yourself, peace in the world. I know there are a lot going go in the world right now. It is so easy to lose perspective and to be sucked into the downward spiral / bottomless pit / void of negativity. We must learn to know when to put a stop and what is our limit before we lose our inner peace and joy when consume the media. Does it make you feel better or worse after you read them? How much is too much? Does it make you feel more capable to help or does it water your seeds of depression anxiety and hopelessness? Knowing when to stop before we ourselves lose our peace and joy is not indifferent. Read what we need to read.Get informed on things is important, but we must learn to generate and maintain our peace and joy, and not just get sucked out into the negativity, which does not help with any situation. Instead of asking "whats wrong?" We need to rebel and ask "what's right?" in this moment? We are conditioned to only pay attention to what is wrong and what is bad around us and we forget we are living in a beautiful planet called Earth full of life and beauty revolving around the sun at a speed of over 10000 kilometers an hour in the Universe. Being alive is a miracle. Being able to breathe in this beautiful planet is a miracle. When we are more calm and relaxed, we think more clearer and have a better perspective on what are the best things we can do to help those who are in need. Taking care of yourself is not selfish, it is necessary, especially if you want to help others. You can't give with an empty bowl. You must fist allow yourself to generate happiness then you have something to offer to others. It is so important to come back to yourself and arrive fully in the present moment, which we always can take refuge in. This is from what I learnt from my mindfulness teacher and the buddha's teachings. I hope I can help those of you who are feeling overwhelmed. For me, it is only if I can take good care of myself can I continue to help others and to work and donate what is needed by those who are affected by the pandemic and the war. It is only if I have peace, solidity and joy in my own heart can I offer my earnings (material help) to those who are in need but more importantly understanding, compassion and love to others.
