✂️ For a while now, I've been contemplating the idea of cutting and donating my hair for what would be the fourth and likely final time *(as hair grows slower as we age).* Engaging with various salons that facilitate hair donations, I've encountered a slight hiccup in the process. It seems the requirements have shifted slightly. While the minimum length of 10 inches remains the same 📏, there's now an additional consideration: my hair's natural highlights.

My hair has always been a bit unique, showcasing two-tone natural highlights *(which got me a few stern barks during basic-military-training, drill Sargents unconvinced that my patches lacked pigment, both root deep and natural 🪖).* If you haven't noticed yet, my left eyelashes are blond while my right are brown 👁️. It's a quirky little detail that I've grown to appreciate, initially made fun of for, *“put on mascara yet forgetting to do the other eye?”* as they teased. Anyhow, donation services now stipulate that the hair shouldn't have been bleached partially due to potential damage and also to ensure consistency in the wigs coloring they create. It's a bit of a bummer, but I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to donated in the past.

So, instead of diving straight into the cut, I've decided to have a bit of fun with my hair at home. I'm going to experiment with some lightening techniques to bring back the colors my hair used to flaunt when I spent more time under the sun ☀️. Who knows? Maybe I'll love the look, if not, well, I can always resort to the initial plan of cutting it off. It's all part of the adventure 🥰.
