You've probably heard about those guys from Easter Island... Their name is Moai by the way 🗿

They've always amazed me with the scale, solidity and overall awesomeness 😎 (You've seen how they look like? Real stoics!) Scientists have been arguing for decades about their origins - who built them and why? 🧐 
Don't want to bury you in unnecessary facts so here are the most important things:

They were most likely built by a half-extinct low populated tribe of "long-eared" (got the name from their piercings)  

The statues were hammered out of a mountain rock and then set on the island with the help of ropes and an enormous amount of force. A ton of people just gathered together and set those bad boys up by the arm method

The purpose of their existence remains blurry but they were most likely to have a religious/cultist meaning. Or they could be a vessel for tribe ancestors' spirits! Or they could serve to a more practical use and make the soil more fertile

The heads above the earth are just a visible part of the Moai by the way, I wonder what's hidden underneath? 🤭 Can't deal with the curiosity...
