I grew up using modern machines to clean my clothes, and it wasn't until I started traveling internationally that I realized that the vast majority of the world still uses the low cost and environmentally sustainable method of doing it all manually.

Yes, this method takes up more of your personal time. But if you use that time as a meditation practice where you become consumed by the intentionality of the slow, mindful, repetitive movements, it can be quite entrancing. That's how I like to approach chores in general. 🥰
