I used to literally live from weekend to weekend when I was at university. 

I also wanted to quit university a million times, but I was sorry for the wasted time and my parents' help, so I have a diploma that I never used. And when I was working in an office, I didn't work at all in my specialty. 
It's called sunk cost effect. You probably know about it. But you probably don't use it as much as I do.
