At 2011, one decade ago, I was 20 something, ambitious, lonely and struggling international student at The University of Kentucky. I was short with 2 months rent and had to bail out my lease and move to friends couch for 2 months. I had to go to my landlord and tell him that I can’t pay rent now, he told me “don’t worry, you can pay me back when you’re rich and famous.” Paying him back has been in my heart since I left Kentucky, but I want to do it in person. Today is the 1st time I came back to Kentucky since I left. I’m working on locations scouting for my feature film in KY for the weekend. And today I was able to knock my old landlord’s door and thank him  in person and pay back the rent in double.
