A candid post for you all today. I'm sure for those who've been hanging around my domain for a while can clearly see the influence of my psychology education in my work. Its great fun to use that academic understanding to play around with desires and further your self understanding. 'Why?' is the most powerful question of them all... Insert some cliche and pretentious quote about why self knowledge is the most important knowledge here, blah blah blah 

Anywho, the academic side of things is fun to an extent, but when I get bored of that, I LOVE to dabble in philosophy as well. 

Science is the system and toolset we use to understand how things are, and philosophy is the toolset we use to make determinations and perscriptive claims about how things ought to be. 

So, with that in mind, lets do a little exploration. 

Take vices and perversions for example. Things that we have collectively agreed upon to be a taboo. Its hilarious just how many things we assume to be true, not because we've actually ran through the logic of the claim, but rather have fallen inline unconsciously with a social norm. The ammount of 'bad deals' that we take along the way is astonishing, and we don't even realize we're getting played. 

Vices are bad you're told. Vices are never good. Being perverted and having taboo desires? Society doesn't like that. 

Have you ever actually asked yourself WHY that is the case? 

Is it because Sky-Daddy doesn't like it? 
Is it because Government-Daddy doesn't like it? 

Who fkn knows... But nothing in this world happens without a reason. 
I want you to ask yourself that question. Ask yourself why you think something 'bad' is actually bad. Explore it honestly. Don't assume bias, and don't engage with the question from a position that just answers the questions in absolutes or white and black. Actually run through it and reach a conclusion yourself, not based in doctrine, but rather based on the utility of the position and what is most beneficial to yourself.
