They are basically wooden window platbands that serve a spiritual purpose - in the past they basically were guardians to people's houses! 🐻

Nalichniki used to be mediums of good fortune, wealth and prosperity, and rarely ever the wooden patterns repeat themselves from place to place. Some people would spend big sums of money to order most skilled masters to carve a special design for their house to fit their specific wishes! 🌞
